May Favorites

So what if it's the second week of June. Better later than never? These are the products I couldn't get enough of in the month of May.

Clarisonic Nourishing Care Cleanser for Normal/Dry Skin- This is actually my holy grail (HG) face cleanser. What I don't like about it is it's not sold in stores. I have to order it from Drugstore.com, but at least I always get free shipping. I made a boo boo and started using a different cleanser than this in the month of April and my skin dried up and hated me. I have normal/combo skin and although this cleanser contains Shea butter, it never clogs my pores and my skin is left soft. It also cleans every trace of makeup off my face.

Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Mascara- I'm super happy I tried this mascara out this month. I've fallen victim to only buying expensive mascaras. I'll provide a full review later on but this is comparable to YSL Faux Cils but a little less black. This is worthy of a HG status as my everyday mascara.

MAC Chromagraphic Pencil NC15/NC20- This is kind of like a concealer in a pencil form but you can use it to line the waterline, highlight areas, cover blemishes, etc. I've mostly been using it on my waterline instead of white and covering small blemishes (cleaning it between using it on my eyes and skin, of course). What I love about it is it's staying power. I find that I don't have to reapply on my skin and it takes a while to wear off my water line. Set the waterline with MAC's Brule eyeshadow and you're good to go.

MAC Brow Pencil in Lingering- I love the applicator for this pencil! It's tiny and never dispenses too much product. It lasts allllll day long until you wash your face. Lingering is a very versatile color (soft taupe brown). I don't know what I've been using powder on my brows when this is so much better.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk- Yet another HG product. Use this over UDPP and it wont crease (creases on it's own). I've had this product forever but I've used it just about everyday in May. I apply a little to my lid blended out for day looks and all over my eye blended out for nighttime looks. It makes eyeshadows really stand out.

  1. The cleanser you mentioned, can you use it on its own without the clarisonic? I been looking for a nondrying cleanser that doesn't further dry out my cheeks.

Cover Girl Lash Blast! Such a good mascara!

  2. bunnyface- You can definitely use this cleanser without the Clarisonic. After cleansing you can feel the shea still on your face. You might also like Lancome's Creme Mousse Confort as well. it leaves the skin soft but uses rose oil instead of shea. Here's the link for that cleanser http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2997041/0~2376780~6009391~6016274~6016277~6016287?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6016287&P=1

  4. Love love love CoverGirl LashBlast! That is definitely my HG mascara at the moment. I also have the Clarisonic cleanser that came with my Clarisonic MIA. I haven't used it yet but I do have oily/combo skin so I'm not sure if that would work out for me. I've been wanting to try the Chromagraphic pencil too! I gotta stop buy MAC and get one asap. :)

  5. Becky- you should give them a try sometime, I know you'd love them!

Tina- I'd stay clear of the nourishing cleanser if you have oily/combo skin. It might be too rich for you. Yay Lash Blast!
