Giveaway Winner Announcement!

Congrats to xAgnes from pinkboxmakeup! You've won MAC's Thrills lipstick and Hipness blush :)

Her favorite mascara: Has to be covergirl's lashblast volume!! (the waterproof one) its seriously the only thing that keeps my asian lashes curled all day long :)

Thanks to everyone who entered my giveaway! I should be having another sometime soon. Be on the lookout! Next time I'll use random.org to generate a winner. This whole writing down everyone's name on a scrap of paper and putting it into a colander is sorta nutty looking.

BTW Agnes is having a giveaway of her own on her blog. You can visit her blog here.

Urban Decay Naked Palette: Good thing it sold out already..

Otherwise, I'd be flinging my money at it. It just launched today and I'm not surprised it sold out so fast. Not to fear, it will be back in stock soon.

Just look at the prettiness...

Source

THIS is how Urban Decay does neutral! Far from a group of boring beige shadows, this long, lean, seductive case is packed with TWELVE gorgeous neutrals. Shades range from delicate champagnes to dark, gritty gunmetal, and feature FIVE NEW shades with names like Darkhorse, Virgin and Buck. We’ve also included a range of textures: everything from glitter to shimmer to matte.

The chocolaty velvet case is emblazoned with the word “NAKED” in gold foil lettering. (Just wait ‘til your friends see you pull this sexy thing out of your bag. Jealous!) The mirrored case also includes our first double-ended 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, featuring Zero (our award-winning black) and Whiskey, a NEW deep brown shade. We’ve also included a travel size Eyeshadow Primer Potion in our original formula.

You can buy the Naked Palette from Urban Decay here when it's back in stock. Otherwise, UD just launched new eyelashes, 11 new vegan brushes, and a vegan eyeshadow palette that are still available. The new lipglosses haven't made it up to their site yet but check back with Urban Decay soon! UD's fall line also launches in Macy's, Ulta, and Sephora nationwide August 1st.

Did you buy the new Naked palette before it sold out?

MAC Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara (Nordstrom Exclusive)

MAC's Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara debuted it's little flamboyant self today on Nordstrom's website. Apparently, like Opulash, it's a Nordstrom exclusive. Expect to see H&N at other MAC counters in the early fall.

A two-in-one mascara that lets you choose if you want lashes to be naturally defined, or instantly combed and loaded for full-on drama. Easy-to-use dual-wiper system allows this lightweight formula to go on either way. One wiper refines the application for a clean sweep, while the other loads the lashes for greater impact.

I'm very intrigued now by the description, but I've never been one to love MAC mascara's. Maybe this one will be the one? Anyone feeling naughty and/or haute enough to try this?

Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Wash Review

I'm always in the market for yummy smelling bath gels. Since I like Pacifica lotions so much, I thought I'd give their bath gels some attention. I picked up Hawaiian Ruby Guava to review.

What the Sephora website says about this bath gel:
Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Wash is a Sephora-exclusive must-have that purifies and pampers the skin with an infusion of natural ingredients and essential oils. Its fragrance is a sexy blend of sweet guava and bright pomelo, inspired by lingering hours in paradise watching the waves as tropical fruit notes and hints of coconut surf wax mingle with the breeze.

I was told by the sales person the lotions and the corresponding bath gels smell exactly alike in this brand. In the case of the Ruby Guava bath wash, the lotion smells better. This gel has a strong pomelo smell, which kind of overpowers the coconut and guava smell. A pomelo is related to the grapefruit, hence the gel smells like grapefruit. Smells nice and energizing.

Rocco likes the smell of it.

Many people complained this gel didn't give them tons of suds. While it's sulfate free, it does contain a sudsing agent from a coconut source. On a bath puff I found it didn't suds as much as I liked, but I didn't have to add more product to the puff. It's hard to describe, but it gave me a thin but consistent layer of suds throughout my usage of the gel.

More dislikes: I found the pump hard to use. I had to pump it 5 times to get the amount I desired. The gel doesn't leave a fragrance behind on the skin, and it doesn't moisturize like the packaging said.

This product is just ok. It left my skin clean and it's vegan, but I wouldn't bother repurchasing it.

Disclosure: I like to buy stuff so I bought this too. Wheeeee!

FOTD Parrot Love

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I did a very similar FOTD using just about all of the same products, but I swapped Lucky Green out for Parrot (limited edition). I found someone selling Parrot on Specktra, and I snatched that bad boy up. It's kind of an intimidating color to work with since it's a bright teal, but just pair it with other neutral shadows and you're good to go for a day time look. BTW this is from the end of the day and from before I started the lash and brow serums. My brows look like a hot hairy mess right now (which is good right? Means it's working?).

Lash Update - L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum

I just wanted to give you a little picture update of my use of L'Oreal's Lash Boosting Serum I bought at the beginning of this month. It's been 16 days now and I definitely notice a difference with my lashes. They're a bit longer and I'm noticing less fallout. I'm only applying the serum at night on the top lashes yet somehow my lower ones look a tad longer too. I'm thinking that has to do with closing your eyes, your top lashes touch the bottoms one. Anyway, I'll give a full review on this product in a bit. I don't think I've been using it long enough to fully critique.

I decided to use the same mascara in the before and after pictures since my lashes have blond tips and are pretty straight. I did not curl my lashes for these photos.

Before- 2 coats of Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara

After- 2 coats of CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara

The Tale of Two MAC Lippies

I depotted a bunch of eyeshadows about a weekend or two ago. At least I had Twilight on in the background to keep me company while I feverishly worked away with a straight iron and a paring knife. It's actually a really easy process, but I needed Edward for some company. Sorry Jacob.

I depotted enough to pick up two lipsticks using MAC's B2M program.

Say hello to Lovelorn and Sandy B. Hayyyyyy!

Ooo B2M tattoos!

Swatch of Lovelorn (Lustre)

Lovelorn is a glossy blue pink with plenty of pink pigment. It's perfect for cool colored ladies (or gents) like myself.

Swatch of Sandy B (Frost)

Sandy B is an uberfrosty light shell pink. I find it to be a little brownish on me but in a wearable way. This lippie is a bit too frosty but looks great under glosses such as Flurry of Fun or Smile.

What are your favorite MAC lippies? BTW can you back to MAC items you've gotten when you've B2Med in the past?

Jacob or Edward? Brad Pitt or yo momma? I'm actually a Ryan Reynolds type of girl. Douse him in glitter instead of Edward.

Random clothing hauls and a weekend recap

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I just wanted to show you a few things I've bought over the last month. I've been needing some casual summer clothes. Oh and I like stuff...

Here's a few things I picked up at Nordstrom. I have a secret. I like to shop in the Juniors section even though it's been years since I was considered a junior ;-)

BP Double Scoop Tank, Lush Floral Pattern Tank, H.I.P. Ruched Sleeve Cardigan

This was my favorite item I picked up. I love the hook detail and the way it looks over leggings.

I also stopped by Express. Lucky me, they put out coupons like every week giving you $20 off of $60. I love that!

Embroidered Applique Top, Mesh Ruffled Top

These items are from Nordstrom Rack (outlet). The green cardigan is J.J. Basics and the black tunic is BCBG Generation.

Have you hauled anything good recently? Let me know in the comments!

Also, how was your weekend? ! I had a pretty good weekend with the hubs. We started out with seeing Toy Story 3 on Friday. It had it's funny and then it's downright sentimental moments. Loved it!
Saturday was most memorable because someone hit my car. A stupid Prius backed into my Ford Escape. Guess who won... ME!!! My car took out their bumper but all that lost the battle was my licence plate on my car. Built Ford tough indeedie. The good thing was the guy admitted fault.
On Sunday we celebrated Father's day with brunch in the morning with my family and hit a local winery with the hub's family in the evening. I wish I'd taken a picture of the gorgeous views.

BTW, hate to be annoying but have you entered my giveaway yet? Don't miss out!

Growing Hair

My brows are inadequate... I didn't know that.

I've been getting them done at Anastasia in Nordstrom for years now. My local counter replaced my fav girl with a not so fav girl a couple years ago and lazy me, never requested another person (totally my own fault). The first time with her, she ripped off a lot of my brow but I was always fine with the shape even though I'd liked my previous shape better.

Freshly debrowed pic of me... She totally was taking way too much off. Hmm this also reminds me I gotta break out my Dollymix blush some more.

Fast forward to two weekends ago. My local Nordstrom was having a cosmetic trend show and had driven down a bunch of Anastasia employees to wax the Nordstrom crowd. I sat with some guy, no idea what his name was. He basically told me he wouldn't wax my brows because the previous waxer had left them in a thinned out, jacked up state. He wanted me to buy brow serum and come back when they'd grown back in. I thought that was pretty bold of him to say.
He grabbed a permanent Anastasia employee of the local Nordstrom I was at. She murmured to him, "she's missing rows 1-3." She let me know my chica no longer worked there, she'd be taking care of me in the future, and also pushed the brow serum. They want me to grow in what the girl ripped out plus some hair on my right brow that doesn't ever grow hair. They reassured me this serum would grow hair in places that don't grow hair. Being a beauty blogger and the skeptic, I bought the Anastasia Brow Enhancing Serum to review. I know what you're thinking, sucker... It does have a nice green tea smell.

Since I'm growing brow hair in, I thought what the heck, why not grow some more lashes while I'm at it. I'll be trying out L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum. I'll check in soon with my progress.

MAC Digi-Pop Swatches

MAC's Digi-Pop collection hasn't launched yet, but I was able to get swatches of a few of the lippies during the presale at Nordstrom.

As always, click on the photo for full size. Swatched on NW2o skin.

Natural Light

With Flash

Left Column, top to bottom: Baby's On Fire, Hot Sass, Smash Hit, Liquid Lurex, Infused With Glam
Right Column, top to bottom: Troublemaker, Naughty You, Glaringly Hip, Win-Win

I wasn't the most excited about this launch; however, everything is much prettier in person. I only bought Glaringly Hip because, let's face it, how many glitter lippies do I need to own? These remind me a lot of the MAC in Lillyland collection Lipgelee's. In fact the glitter in Glaringly Hip is about the same color as Resort Life. The good news about this collection, you can't feel the glitter on your lips :) Good luck getting every trace of glitter off your face though.

Must haves: Glaringly Hip (gorgeous over Lovelorn), Liquid Lurex (layer this over a red lipstick), Trouble Maker

MAC Digi-Pops Displays

I was lucky to get into Nordies to get my presale on with MAC's Digi-Pops Collection. I'll post my swatches later but here's some pics I snapped with my IPhone of the displays. BTW these lippies are GLITTER BOMBS. I couldn't feel the glitter on my lips but danngggggggggg, looked like I hooked up with a fairy. One hot MAC fairy.

Click on the pics to make them bigger.

Review: CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara

I have many mascaras on my must try list. After reading reviews on MakeupAlley.com, CoverGirl's LashBlast Volume mascara moved right up my list.

Quick Take: Long dark fringe of black lashes and no flakes? Gets an A rating in my book.

CoverGirl promises: Get a blast of lush, volumized lashes! LashBlast's patented volume-boosting formula and patent-pending brush are designed to max-out each and every lash, leaving you with the ultimate big lash look.

What I liked: Not only did it perform like the package said it would, my lashes looked noticeably longer. I was only expecting volume, so yay CoverGirl! I also loved that the mascara gave me all day curl and very little flaking. The best past of about this mascara is how easy peasey it is to wash off! I hate how some mascaras require elbow grease to get it off. Sometimes I fall asleep with eye makeup still on because I just don't want to deal with taking off my mascara.

No likey: The tube lasted me about a month before it started drying up. I also wished the black was a little more glossier.

No makeup

Two Coats of LashBlast

I never thought I'd like a drugstore mascara as much as I've liked CoverGirl LashBlast! I've been liking the big fringe of lashes it gives me. It's definitely comparable to YSL Faux Cils but not as glossy. I'm definitely buying this one again!
