MAC A Tartan Tale- Pigment Swatches and Comparisons

Surprise surprise, MAC's A Tartan Tale launched today and of course I had to hit up MAC to get some pigments. Lucky for you, I have pigment swatches and comparisons for you today and not like 2 weeks from now. I'm such a slacker... with good reason, I promise!

Left to right: Moonlight Night, The Family Crest

Left to right: The Family Crest, Gilt By Association MES

With flash- Top row swatched dry, bottom wet, left to right: Moonlight Night, The Family Crest, Gilt by Association

I really thought that The Family Crest would be similar or in the same color family as MAC's Style Black Gilt by Association MES. Not at all. FC is a plummy brown with bronze and violet pearl while GBA is a glittering antique gold with a warm bronze undertone.

What did you end up hauling from this collection?

Disclosure: I bought everything featured.

Update: Here's swatches in natural light.

  3. Yep the 2 colors are not even close to the same. Family Crest is a gorgeous color. If it was in an eyeshadow form, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat. Awesome swatches Lindsey!
